Okenanubode Is Mount Of Transfiguration
Okenanubode in Edo Sate of Nigeria is only one of such spots on earth. Others include Mount Sinai, Mount Olives, Mount Arafat, etc. Okenanubode can be physical or metaphysical or mystical. Initiation is one — ceremony during which one is introduced to something new or a new phase in existence. However, the actual events vary.
The initiation could me of the soul only while the physical body goes through the initiation ceremony. Initiation can occur also without any physical ceremony or rituals as such. In this case we talk of divine initiation.
Initiation of the physical body can happen during transfigurations. We say in my language that erinmwin za gbuga. This means invisible beings or beings above human understanding changing things or the nature of things. We define
Okenanubode as where erinmwin na gbokele; meaning the transcendental beings summersaults on Okenanubode. The initiated does not think that spirits and souls really summersault; rather, they transfigure or metamorphose. This is an initiation where the physical body goes through the sublimation process literarily.
We have narratives about holy persons actually “stepping” into an adjacent universe. They would vanish from this world intentionally. I call those who attain this avbe-osa; by which I mean ancestors who left this world for the next without death of the physical body since the beginning of the world. This is the highest possible metaphysical attainment while in flesh and blood.
