Preamble
We are volunteering to advance a cause. Our decision derives from meeting the necessity of steering the race to fulfill the injunction of ERE-DIA-UWA. This was revealed on the coronation day of Oba Erediauwa. It is pertinent to note that the injunction was not from the Oba or given by Ogiso Ere. (Ere died two thousand years ago.) Rather, the injunction originated from the transcendental realm or eguae oghene OSA, namely the presence of the eminence, magnificence, and awesome splendor of OSA. That is where all righteous souls who attain salvation go to. Presence of Osa n’ Oghodua emanates through that eminence, magnificence, and awesome splendor. Oghodua gave us the injunction on behalf of humankind amidst signs and wonders.
The injunction bore the address of Ere. This clearly shows that we should follow the cause inherent in the standards of Ogiso Ere. The cause was initiated by him who reigned about two thousand years ago in what was then Igodomigodo. Igodomigodo is now called Edo or Benin. Ere was the son of the first Ogiso who was called Igodo (re Obagodo) (1968, Jacub U. Egharevba, A SHORT HISTORY OF BENIN)
Ogiso Ere had two standards. First standard was that he instituted a law for peace. Whenever there was quarrelling, squabbling, fighting, etc. a crier of the community announced as follows: “Awua ne ERE.” This translates as, “it is forbidden in the name of Ere (to quarrel, fight, etc.)”. Thus peace would be restored instantly. (ibid)
The second cause was that he instituted creativity, innovations, and industry by “introducing the domestic articles as wooden plates and bowls, mortars and pestles, which were carved by the (guild of) Owina; and the wooden heads, carved by the (guild of) Igbesanmwan, which are placed on ancestral shrines.” (ibid). That the industry of carvers included the production of articles to be placed on ancestral shrines attest to his reverence for edion or ancestors. We want edion to receive as much reverence in our time as they did in his time. We therefore include in our cause, advancing the affairs of edion and erinmwin oto in the light of the centrality of these from then until now. They remain central in our theology, traditions, attitudes, ethics, metaphysics, etc. Hence, we extend Ere’s cause of two thousand years ago to read as follows: “Awua ne ERE, awua n’ edion.”
Conclusively, our cause is to advance peace, concord, innovativeness, science, artificial intelligence, industry, etc. We are relying on erinmwin (immanent spirit of time, immanent providence in the universe, invisible and transcendental Beings or Ihen that include primordial ancestors of humankind, and aliens - extraterrestrial beings) that inspired Ogiso Ere to guide us and humankind. We would be referring to that erinmwin sometimes as ERE.
Eternal Program Of Isienmwenro ERE Vb’ Edion (ISREDO)
1. We are Isienmwenro ERE Vb’ Edion (ISREDO). That is to say that we are the Isienmwenro or advancers of the erinmwin (also defined above) that is the origin of the inspiration that guided Ogiso Ere. The ?rinmwin and ERE (not the man) are one for our purposes. This is a Mystery; May erinmwin ERE continue to reveal the Mysteries to all.
2. We are advancers of the cause of erinmwin ERE and ancestors as revealed throughout the world. We voluntarily take as our mission the duty to advance the cause as is inherent in the cause of Ogiso Ere in ca 50 (ibid). The injunction as was revealed on the coronation day of Oba Erediauwa came as “ERE-DIA-UWA”. The details of “ERE-DIA-UWA” as the covenant is as follows: The erinmwin that inspired or worked through Ogiso Ere shall dia (organize, restore orderliness, and rein in passions of) uwa (all peoples). All peoples who accept the doctrines and Divine Injunctions as revealed, and our code of conduct and discipline as stated in the UGR ( We are guided by the Universal Golden Rule (UGR); it states as follows: Do only those things, which if everyone were to join you in, would advance security, peace, hope, sanctity, and prosperity. Never do anything, which if other people were to follow would lead to ordeal of suffering and anguish for all. Those who violate the UGR will not attain salvation; they will not be in eguae oghene Osa in the hereafter).are welcome to join.
3. We acknowledge that the erinmwin that inspired Ogiso Ere is the immanent spirit of time that still prevails in our time; the ?rinmwin intervenes in the lives of people, liberates them, and ensures order and security in the society throughout the millenniums. Ogiso Ere of ancient times ruled Igodomigodo. Two traditions of Ogiso Ere are vividly remembered as standards until now (after about two thousand years); they include the following: “If there was squabbling, fighting, or quarrelling among people, a crier would announce to the parties the order, “Awua ne ERE” meaning “squabbling, fighting, quarrelling, etc. is forbidden in the name of ERE”. Peace would be restored instantly. We have extended this to “Awua ne ERE, awua n’ edion Edo” in the light of the needs of our time.
4. The other tradition had to do with introduction of the guild of craftsmen (owina and igbesanmwan). These produced “. . . domestic articles as wooden plates and bowls, mortars and pestles, which were carved by the Owina; and the wooden heads, carved by the Igbesanmwan, which are placed on ancestral shrines.” (ibid).
5. ERE or erinmwin ERE brings true peace to the world by seizing quarrelling and degeneration towards atavism in individuals, and chaos in the family and society. It encourages gainful employment while discouraging indolence and loafing. It brings a channel for communicating with edion and through them primordial and other ancestors (enikaro and ihen). ERE replaces atavism in individuals, and chaos in communities and the world, with reconciliation, concord, order and peace. These are at all levels - in the family and community, among all men and women of good will, and between man and Osa. Those who imbibe these will receive security, and hope as reward. They are assured a place in egua oghene Osa n' Oghodua in the next universe.
6. Erinmwin that are associated with ERE reveal Mysteries to the worthy. They may take on the form of a person in present time and appear to deserving people to guide them. These have been intervening in the lives of many. ERE wants us to broadcast encounters with them; our reward is order, security, peace, long life, and salvation — life in oguae oghene Osa in the next universe
Formalizing Theology And Protection Of Holy Sites
7. We will identify our holy sites that erinmwin ERE may protect them against encroachment; we will amplify cardinal points or pillars of the revealed Mysteries, and revise common rites and rituals for erinmwin ERE to enforce. Examples include Osagbaye and Aruokun (at Ughoton and elsewhere). Others are Ukhure, (family structure and genealogy), edion (ancestors), ehi, uhunmwun (individual’s divine-HEAD), and erinmwin oto.
8. We will establish distinctions between cardinal pillars and deities of our theology on one hand, and of foreign religions on the other hand; for examples, between Osa and God, Okun and Olokun (ihen) on one hand, and the olokun that was a barren woman on the other hand; Ogun n’ ebo erhen and ogun that was a hunter, etc. erinmwin associated with ERE will defend and protect us who advance their cause that include that of Osa, Okun, and edion above all others.
9. We shall train researchers as well as social and community workers in every aspect of the revealed Mysteries. We shall publish literature for teaching and guiding the citizenry.
Emwan (the Community of) Isienmwenro ERE Vb’ Edion (ISREDO)
10. We extend and maintain our established communities or Emwan “Isienmwenro ERE Vb’ Edion Edo”. This is the institution where is being developed the wherewithal for disseminating the message that is Ere-dia-uwa throughout the whole world.
11. We maintain avb’ eguae edion, lecture and prayer halls.
12. We provide “ERE SANCTUARY” (OGUA EMWAN ERE) to shield the citizenry from unscrupulous spiritual predators (re SPRA — Spiritual, Psychic, and Ritual Abuse), human traffickers who hunt them for money and human parts, as well as from drug pushers, recruiters of kidnappers, armed robbers, etc.
13. We will fight persecution against children that are below 15 years old who are maligned as witches and the like. They are persecuted under the guise of fighting witchcraft. We neither deny nor affirm that they are witches. We argue and insist that being children, some of them are unable to understand what they are being accused of, or the powers that they use or that are using them. Our goal is to train them in the way that they will gain control over the powers for their own good, the good of society, and good of humankind.
Celebration Of The Day Of Covenant
14. “Erediauwa” as a name has akhase or the emanation of the word of Oghodua (logos) that prevails eternally. Therefore, the 23rd of March shall be celebrated annually as The Day Of COVENANT between Oghodua and humankind. We will maintain a perpetual committee of elders (edion ebo) among Isienmwenro ERE Vb’ Edion (ISREDO) to sustain the project.
15. The celebration is of the day of our emancipation as a drifting Race whose history had been marked by incessant quarreling, suffering under ignorance, superstition and impunity, hate, unbridled passions, and indiscipline; this is on behalf of all peoples of the world who chose to live a disciplined (re UGR), ordered, secure, and life of peace among neighbors as handed down in the name of ERE.
16. The populace shall celebrate through carnivals, forums, and discussions in institutions of learning at all tiers. The dukedoms must be involved. Enigie, edion owere, and priests of communal shrines will rally at local and village levels to replicate what is exhibited at the capital.
17. Our National day shall be hallowed according to its divine origin and propagation. The period leading to it shall always be filled with befitting peaceful and disciplined activities reminiscent of the preparation for the coronation of Omo n’ Oba Erediauwa. The holy day shall be marked annually and celebrated by all until the end of time. The story of the union of sun and moon at noon on the day of the coronation shall be told to all nations of the world. AFANGIAKO or the display in the sky of the evidence of the presence on earth of Osa shall be told as well. These include sightings everywhere on Holy Mounts as Oke n’ Anubode on earth.
18. Isienmwenro ERE Vb’ Edion (ISREDO) shall guarantee that these anniversaries are celebrated annually until the end of time.
