People pray fervently nowadays for the souls of the dead not to falter, stumble, and fall on Okenanubode. The Oboiro as medium is not the same as being a priest of vodoun religion where the priest is called a houngan; houngan as medium is personification of a zombie, or corpse without a spirit. Oboiro is never devoid of own soul or spirit. The initiation of the houngan includes being literarily buried in a grave for days in a state of suspended animation. He then rises as zombie or corpse without a spirit. The Oboiro goes through lives experiences while being guided by the invisible ancestors who dwell on the Mount. “Oboiro” is a paradigm of the spiritual capabilities of every human being. It must however be developed.
